Hot and humid yesterday, and a big thunderstorm last night, with hail and lots of rain. This morning there’s still water running off the rock face on both sides of the house, pools and puddles everywhere, and my little vegetable garden has several eroded water paths, almost like little stream beds, an inch or so deep and several inches wide, running right across it. I wonder what that will mean for the stuff I planted – I may end up with beans in the lettuce!
I was happy to see that the hail didn’t effect the sugarplums or the wild cherries – I can still look forward to a bumper crop of both later on.
Hot and humid again today, so I’ll let the weeds continue to flourish. Another day of this weather and we can hope the black flies are down to little or nothing!
